At 24,000 miles it may use a little oil. Not an issue, just check often it and top up as necessary. Generally bullet-proof!

After a decent number of miles the rings are probably on their way out, that'll make it burn oil.
I wouldn't worry about it, though, just top up as necessary.
Mine had done 27k when I bought it and was on 30 something k when I sold it. Only problems I had with it were that if it got left without being started for more than a few weeks then it took about an hour to get started again.
It never once had a working battery in it, and it was 3 months before I noticed that the battery lead had snapped and therefore wasn't even connected anymore.
They're pretty indestructable, so long as you don't try to go round corners too fast. They're very forgiving but there's only so much that square tyres and a bendy frame can cope with.

I had one for a "courtesy bike" while my sv was getting restricted. Was great fun, me and a mate sam were bunny hopping it! I out-accellerated him on his RS125 to about 15mph! Wow! I almost got the pegs down on it, was awesome. Another mate also wheelied it down my street!

I put standard 10/40 oil in it and had no problems.

Actually, that's not true, I had loads of problems, but I think they were due to the bike already being pretty much knackered, not my choice of oil.

I made profit on mine. Got it for £100 non-runner. Messed about with it to get it started, sent it for MOT, ran it for a year, passed my test and sold it for £150 runner but no MOT and needing work for MOT.
