Default RIP my battery

We are gathered here to remember Northwind's battery. It lived to the heady old age of 5 years old, and in that time achieved some 26000 miles. It served with honour and distinction, surviving being run flat more times than a character in a Warner Bros cartoon, and almost always starting the bike on even the worst of cold starts. It fell, serving its bike, today, and the RAC's best efforts to revive it sadly failed.

So long, old friend. you will be missed.

(Northwind chucks his battery in a skip)

What's the best place to buy a new battery?

Hello Northwind,
Coincidence or what! I also just retired my Original Yuasa tonight - over 6 Yrs old & 31K miles. Granted I was keeping it going with a weekly charge but great service from a battery. I just felt with winter coming in that I was justified to get a new one that would give me a bit more re-assurance.

I bought a Yuasa from Mad Matts Motorcycles:

Good service and prompt delivery if you want a recommendation.

I'm going to see if my dealer has one in stock- they thought they might but there was nobody around who could actually deal with parts- and if they do I'll just take it... I'd sooner pay more and get fast tbh.

I've got a spare, it's rubbish (old, bad condition, and only 9ah) so the bike's back in action now...
