Out of curiosity, I just went back over the last 3 pages of IB. Of those 60 topics, only 3 were heavy political types, and one of those was a reaction to the first. The thirds was a reaction to the second To hear some speak, this site's become nothing but a political talking shop with no bike involvement... But I can't remember the on-topic forums being more succesful than they are now.

Does anyone seriously think this site's overrun with political threads? If you do, take a look for yourself... There's more UK politics ones, but once you remove the biking-related ones, there's relatively few and most are "This isn't justice/world gone mad", which have always been a feature of the site.

Just my opinion, obviously... Just seems like things are being blown out of proportion.

True sentiments Northwind.

Funny how the people that are complaining are also the ones that tried to get involved in the very same discussions but were found to be helplessly out of their depth. So now have run off crying that they want their ball back.

I just don't read the politics / religion / IT related ones. They hold no interest to me and I am not here to hear that type of thing. Simple as.

I was just thinking the exact same thing.

Stray beyond the first five posts in idle banter (For non SV and bike related chat) and its a cracking forum.

I did post what I thought was rather a good post in one of the political threads but it got ignored as usual :sulk:

No it didn't - we have smaller fish to fry right now.

I think people think that the political threads take over simply because of the amount of responses they get on the highly emotive subjects people are discussing. It's easily forgotten that there are only a few of those sorts of threads up at any one time because of the amount of volume posting in each one.!!!

The political threads hold interest for some people - some people like to discuss politics on a 'general' section of a motorbike forum - others do not.

I for one chose not to get too involved, but find them interesting to read at times. Personally I believe it is certain users (Jelster, Sid Squid et al) that are ruining them, not so much the main accused parties.

Well as that rather terse chappie Chief pointed out to me yesterday, I have no place passing any comment on a thread that is dedicated to any political, war or terrorist type matters. I think he is of the opinion that I talk nothing but Shi'ite! :P

Hammas dissapointed as the next person but maybe I need to mullah over a thing or two before ever commenting in future.
