Default Oopss......wayhayyyyy! Newbie.

My first post, my first SV in fact my first bike since passing my test 12 years ago.

Just wanted to say hello. I've just purchased a SV650s curvey, having not ridden since passing my test 12 years ago I was poohing myself at the thought of riding home the 80miles from Chigwell Essex/London area to my home in Norfolk. But after a very shakey start I soon found my legs and by the time I'd completed 40miles of the M11 I was starting to enjoy myself.

I wanted a bike that would be safe, predictable and fun, but one which could be easily modified. Having read reviews on various bikes, I thought the SV would be the bike for me. The reviews were spot on, even if it was a little cramped and windy. But then I am 6ft 3 and 15.5 stone. But it was comfy, being tall I was able to sit up. Just need to fit a decent screen and perhaps lower pegs from the naked model (i'll see how I get on 1st).

Best of all was the price, 2001 model (S-Y in the UK) in Saturn Black, FSH, standard apart from a hugger, 13k miles - £1200 sweet. Plus 10 months tax, new tyres (sportmax), chain and sprokets (all reciepts), oxford tank bag, locks, cover, service manual and lots of lubes and cleaners.

Cheers.

I'm sorry - did you say you were 'enjoying' the M11...

... obviously insane!

You'll fit right in here then.

Welcome.

Welcome and enjoy the ride

£1200 seems like a really good buy for a 2001 model; out of interest, what's the lowest price anyone has ever seen on an undamaged (i.e. no insurance write-offs) SV650?

They seem to keep a base price hovering around the £1200 to £1300 mark
