Had a look at the Haynes manual and it seems the chassis number is just before the UK K1, however checking the org main site it seems the K1 made the change to silver wheels and engines. There is no mention on the original registration document, and the bike is 50 miles away in a garage so I can't see the forks anyway! Going to go with K1, it was registered edge of march '01 so probably just on the edge.

Cheers for the help.

Edit: Just zoomed in on a photo and one bolt at the front on the rh (from riders view) fork. so K1 it is going to be.

Mine has also black wheels and engine she was taken in to use 2002, but i think she is 2001 model after all.

Nah, if it's got 2 bolts it's the later revision of the forks, which started at some point during the K1s but I don't know for sure that they all got it. It's not an advertised change so the dividing line probably isn't so clearcut.

(edit. This is ****. Completely the wrong way round. Confused myself )

Got a reply from Suzuki belgium wrt the chassis number, and they said it's a belgian homlogated model (no surprise therethen), which doesn't seem to fit into the UK model scheme of things, so I've decided that it's a K1 for paper work requirements!

Sorry Northwind, but I beg to differ. The early SV's had the two bolts at the bottom of the right fork. Checked Alphasports fiches.

Still, wheels or forks aren't conclusive as they would be the first things to be replaced after most accidents.

Mine's an 03 registered K1 and it has one pinch bolt.
