Hmm, I'd kind of expected to see the Lostprophets- fellow Qprime band, and they're doing T in the Park the day before...

On the other hand, I'll be at T in the Park, which has just confirmed Avril Lavigne! Take that, Mastodon! Or not

Mastodon's Leviathan album is... fecking.... Godlike.
It rocks very hard. Very hard indeed.
The first three tracks at least on the last one, Blood mountain are fairly stomping, but, I am not sure if the singing is a great idea. Still not a bad album, just not in love with every track.

Here, Northy, have you listened to Neon Bible yet? Arcade Fire's latest. Jolly good so it is.
Not metal though...

Oh yeah, if you get a chance have a look at this new band from my old place, terrordactyl, they are very good.
Sort of funk metal. http://www.myspace.com/thedactyls

Not been hugely impressed by Neon Bible so far... And I loved the first one, too. Still, they should be ace at Reading- playing the big stage at sundown, drama. So are Nine Inch Nails for that matter.

My first gig was Metallic at Wembley Arena- the Shortest Straw tour. It rocked.

Can't say I'm a fan of their more recents stuff though- for me it started going downhill after ...And Justice for all (great songs, terrible mix/sound). The Black Album is great, but it's not thrash. And nothing will do it like Ride/Master. Though the Cunning Stunts DVD is great and I do like Hero For A Day.

Now I'd love to go and see Iron Maiden- never dunnit. And I Should.

Well - one does listen to said album thinking "Where's all the bass?" And the kick, sorry CLICK drum- what's going on there?

But the songs, arrangements and playing are SOOOO BLOODY GOOD!

Jason- too many years as Newkid. Imagine- jumping into a band, not only with Hetfield and Ulrichs galaxy size egos to contend with, but with having to be compared with recently lost Cliff as well. He's a better man than me for staying so long...
