Been offline for a while but first post now I'm back may prove positive for someone here, who knows.

Anyone want a job? I have a position going for a senior technician - details attached below. I can't guarantee an .orger special treatment, but the perfect candidate might be out there!

Any questions please PM me or email me on the address in the documents attached.

I find it strange that your require a "Full clean driving licence" in this age of scamera vans. What are the chances of anyone who ever does any serious mileage being able to comply with that requirement?

I won't be applying, the manager sounds a right xxxx???

What constitutes a 'competitive' salary these days? Any job advert that is not upfront enough to specify a salary is not looked at by me, so just wondered what a 'competitive' salary is? If it is truly competitive, why not just salary is between x and x?

Not meant as pop at Dan, just think employers should be upfront about how much they value the role.

Feel free to ignore this as a derail if you wish.

good luck to whoever applies.

I'd be up for it, but I doubt the "competative salary" would be worth much after commuting costs.

Well, it's unlikely to be honest. But then you never know. It's the done thing to ask. The manager is a pain in the 4r5e though, you're right about that.

It's not about hiding anything - but salaries for IT jobs in the North East are cripplingly low, generally. Comparable positions to this are often advertised up here for 16-20K. I'm looking at 21-25K, but if I were to advertise at those levels I'd end up with huge numbers of applicants, many of whom would be paper-smart only. I want someone who really knows what they're doing, who'll be pleasantly surprised with the salary. If they can't be bothered or are put off applying just because I don't advertise the exact number of pounds, what else can they not be bothered to do?

Not a great run from Wales either, to be honest.

Please, feel free to write me a software product for Out of Hours healthcare which runs on a non-MS platform, and I will be only too happy to ditch my current one. As long as you can also replace the rest of the NHS infrastructure with non MS products as well. Some of us have to just make do with what we have to use, sadly.

In which case, there'll be no point applying

I do 30-40K a year and touch wood, no points since 2004.

Add £40,000 plus decent car and I might be tempted to apply.

No it is the North East, add £50,000 + danger money, plus a translator to live over there
