Hello...I'm new to the SV650 but I've read so many positive reports that I didn't think twice when I saw the new Sport version. I'm going to be using it all year round and wanted to know what luggage people have used.
Mine is the fully faired version which I don't think makes a difference but I'm really looking for panniers and tail bag. Thanks |

depends what your doing really.....
been to france last 3 years, between 7-10 days, and I used: Oxford humpback tankbag (i really rate this although not cheap) Surprisingly the best fitting soft panniers I could get were the cheapest ones that oxford make - the "1st time range". i did try the more expensive humpback one but they didn't fit as well. Again recommended. Also got a rentec rack that is fitted only for touring purposes. hope this helps. EDIT: oh and a oxford tailpack Last edited by mattb200; 01-05-08 at 09:14 PM. |

I have the Oxford 1st Paniers. They are really easy to attach and detach and quite large.
However... Make sure that you have something protecting your paint when you use them. I use my bike as a commuter, and it's 8 years old, so I am not as careful with the paint as I should be, but where the paniers rub against the bike the paint is scratched to hell, and where the bungie hooks onto the bag there are deep scratches. If I was to repaint my bike (as I may do this year) I am going to have to find something to protect the area. As your's is a new bike I suggest you do the same thing... Stu |

Cheers Matt - that has been very helpful as the Oxford panniers were one of the sets I was thinking of getting.

Iv just bought the official suzuki top box for mine. You get a mounting plate which replaces the pillion seat, then the box just lock to this. Must say its a very good piece of kit(its been tested to 130mph without losing it)

Thanks TLW - if Lucky doesn't want them, what would like for them? It is the Oxford 1st Panniers you have for sale, isn't it?
Also, is it possible to send them or is it easier for me to jump on the ferry. I live opposite the island, in Gosport. Thanks again. |
