K&N Oil Filter
Hi, iv done a search on this but i cant find the exact information im looking for so sorry if this has been covered before. Im after a new oil filter for my 1999 SVS and i was wondering if there is any difference between a standard Suzuki oil filter or a K&N filter. Is it worth the cost or are they basically the same? And are there any distinct advantages? thanks

Re: K&N Oil Filter
I'm not an expert on the subject, but I remember reading on here that the build quality ain't good and they can rust. From what was said there is no real benefit for the cost increase.

Re: K&N Oil Filter
The same as far as I'm aware. Never used one, but everyone says they rest like buggery.

Re: K&N Oil Filter
I always use OEM one's, there isn't any real difference between the two however the OEM ones seem to cope with the elements better!

Re: K&N Oil Filter
Stick to OEM, can't go wrong.
Non-OE oil filters are always an unknown quantity, oil filtration is about the most critical issue regarding engine wear.

Re: K&N Oil Filter
The K&N has a nut on the front for easier fitting, and comes drilled for lockwire if you care about that. But mine rusted so badly I was starting to wonder if it'd hold together, the front cap was flaking like an old gatepost... I took it off early and it was pretty weak.
