Oh my word! casey has been awesome thus far although if this was horse racing he would have been dragged before the stewards for excessive use of the whip! he is absolutely caning the GP8. Changes have been made to the bike, but it's the guy sat on it that has to make it all work. Without question he is doing that! Only Rossi and Pedrosa when using qualifiers, were able to get below Casey's times which he set on race rubber! Incredible!
Adding to the hand reaching for the trap door is that Marco put in a best lap of 3.2 seconds slower than Stoner!!! Alas though let's calm down a little. Bridgestone have NEVER won at Assen, though Rossi has. Will Michelin yet again steal the glory or does rubber not matter? Casey well happy with his race tyres but less so of his qualifiers. The top 4 qualifiers are the 4 guys that finished in the top 4 at Assen last year. Beware Nicky Hayden. Hopkins fall was one of the fastest and ugliest I have seen, surely he cannot ride this weekend? In response to Dave, Bradley Smith is one of the top 5 quickest riders in the 125's. He just needs to gain a little more race craft and savvy. That along with not allowing himself to get bullied and so lose places as he has done so often this season. He is still very young and I would not right him off just yet. BTW on the rumour front, Simoncelli now suggested to remain in the 250's for one more season. Talk of Nicky to Ducati begins to sound more and more realistic. |

Yep I is thinking Stoner gets to the first corner and then the chequered flag.
Second place is where its at. Hopkins was a blurr! Even in slow motion. He is lucky dude! Toseland? Top six in this league is very good and more than ample. I would say that second to the Rossis and Stoners of the world is no disgrace. |
