Weary = being tired
Wary = being cautious of

Sorry, spelling DOES matter as those quotes above have entirely different meanings with the incorrect spelling. It is entirely coincidental that I understood what you were trying to write.

Cheers for the spelling lesson

Although I think most people could gain the general jist; lock your bike up, to a pole or lampost or something set in concrete (if you can)

Mind you, i think someone on here once said a bloke had his bike chained to a lampost with an almax chain (maybe almax told this story), and the theifs couldnt break the chain, so they ripped the lampost out - bike was recovered, as well as the chain...and lampost. All still married blissfully together as the owner intended. Not sure how true it is, but I like the story anyway.

Or just ride a unclean filthy beast, covered in scratche, marks and rust that you abuse and call names, so no one really wants to nick it.

(but in reality feel guilty about it all the time and love it loads and loads, so whould be really gutted if someone did chav it but try to not let on)

"If you see him about - please do say "hello" in whatever way you see fit."

Yea, thats a point, some people might take that as "ok, i'll say hello....with my fists" etc etc

I personally took it as tounge in cheek...becasue the thought of me fighting someone is quite a funny thought, I'd be owned right away (i'd still have a go if I caught someone trying to take my bike though)

As per my reply above....
Some may see fit to say hello by shaking his hand vigourously and giving him a knowing look, other might see fit to shake him by the neck. Neither the OP, Wolf or I are suggesting you do the former or the latter

Nuff said on the subject i think!

I don't know you, but I'm guessing you've never opened your front door to the gut-hollowing, depressingly empty space, that just a few hours before, your pride and joy had occupied.

I spent weeks saving hard, going without food (literally) and scrimping to buy my first bike. It had three locks on it and was in my front garden. I got up one Monday morning to find it gone. It was never recovered, but I'm convinced that at the time, had I caught those responsible, it would have been messy to say the least.
