Needless to say I've had the issue with the bike for some time.

Anyone else's wife / better half give out this kinda grief or am I under the thumb / no back bone, as I had to stop what I was doing and go inside.

Hmm somthing I have experience with . To answer your question - Yes you are under the thumb. A couple of practical solutions.

Find a hobby that takes up more time than your bike. Let her b*tch and moan - something like an Xbox 360 would work - play it day and night and then give up. She will say how nice it is you get outside and tinkering with your bikes rather than sitting on that stupid brainless machine inside ignoring her....

Otherwise you need to find a mate thats into bikes and has a garage (with no missus) and just ride over there to fix it. I suspect with this one you arent even allowed out for the day though so will probably fail.

Good luck!

I find selective deafness helps when she shouts at me to stop messing with the bikes.
At least I think thats what she said.

What you want is her to have a bike. Then when it breaks down you get to play with it, and magically make it work, then she'll be so happy, she won't bother you to do housework etc and leave you alone........

.....oh hang on. Scrap that, even then, you always find something else to do other than fixing the missus's bike...even though its been sat there waitng for weeks on end....your always fixing your own bike, thats way more important

ahhh but shes interested in fixing it too...still don't work, it ends up in arguing about whos right about whats wrong with it!

The woman obviously has no idea of priorities

Bikes come first!
