Default Tools on sale (Costco)

Costco has a sale on their Crescent 211 piece kit. It's 20% off which puts it right at about £60 including vat. Sale starts today I believe:

Cheap tools work fine for most people and are better than no tools at all

I'd have a set of these to throw in the back of my truck, and just not care if they get lost/stolen/rusty etc. Pretty sure they have a lifetime guarantee, but even if not, Costco has a great returns policy -if you managed to break it you could just walk back into the store and get all your money back.

all i see there are bent spanner heads broken ratchet internels and a half empty box of useless tools LOL Halfrauds have a massive sale on there advanced professional range and recomend spendin the lil extra cash on those. if anything the lifetime gaurantee is worth it.

Not suggesting these are Snap-On or anything -but these are made by a well known American company who manufacture several familiar brands. In fact an adjustable spanner here is known as a crescent wrench in North America.

I have no doubt these are just as durable as the Halfords set (which I own) that cost me nearly twice the price when on sale for half-price. They are lifetime guarantee (just checked) and ANSI rated.

Anyhow not trying to start a debate on what tools one should buy, but these might be useful for someone on a tight budget.

Thanks for posting.

Crescent are a decent enough brand and costco have an excellent sustomer service policy, knack em within 2 years and they refund your money no questions,

ive had a "reasonable" set of metrinch sockets for 20yrs, and theyve lasted well because i clean them and wipe them down when i put them back in the box, if you dont abuse tools theyll last just as long if theyre reasonable quality, the benefit of like the halfords and (some) snap on is that they take abuse better, but if you dont abuse them theyll last well enough,

should you really be smacking an open ended 10mm with a hammer ?, better to use a socket and long bar then they wont go fubar !!!, use the right tool and youll be okay.
