Thanks RH!
As a complete derail, are you doing any trackdays at Cadwell again this year? Would be good to see the "Hypermotard sv" being ridden how it should

That is a bit of a derail isn't it..... Answer, probably not this year. My son is doing his first year of track days and MSV won't let a 15 year old on, so unless I do a dirty and go without him Cadwell will have to wait a while.

Back on topic slightly it's ironic that a 15 year old can do a day at a race school and get his race licence, which then allows him to technically ride a full power SV in an ACU event.....but then he can turn up at a track day with that same licence and ride anything he wants. He hasn't quite managed to persuade me to let him lose on the SV yet, let alone the GSXR which he keeps eyeing up, but it's only a matter of time!

If the offending copper is reading this, I'd start clearing your locker out, sunshine, and start sorting out your financial affairs while you are at it cos I think (and I sincerely do hope) you and the missus won't be able to afford a holiday this summer.

A (not so) bright future as a Lidl security guard awaits you

Isn't that just a little strong Lozzo. We all believe the initial copper made a mistake about what he could and couldn't do, but that has yet to be confirmed for sure. What we do know is they he was unsure enough to ask advice from his Sergeant and has then acted on that advice. Subsequently an Inspector has become involved and the course of action that we have all taken such an issue with has continued.

I'd suggest that if we are eventually proved to be right the copper that stopped the DP is reasonably safe, the force however would have some things to put right.

Maybe the initial coppers should have put their hands up and admitted that they'd cocked up at the start, and then this situation wouldn't have escalated into what it has become. Seems to me they were being bloody minded when the OP was stopped at the roadside and then a touch devious in their actions during the days that followed, especially knowing that the bike had been fire damaged and then charging the poor sod to recover his own bike and pay storage charges when it was all their own fault they had denied him the use of it for no good reason in the first place.

If anyone had made that sort of a **** up in a civvie position working for me and I had found out about it they'd be walking to the local DWP office with a P45 in their hand, why should these coppers be any different? I have sacked people for less in the past, and been fully justified in doing so.

I think we need to take one step at a time. Lets establish exactly what the law is and what powers can be exercised before deciding if someone has acted outside of them.

The image of the seat isnt on the camera for some reason but I'll get another one tomorrow and post it. there's a hole in the indicator where it has been melted and the exhaust was fully painted, not such a big deal with the exhaust as it is damaged, but still it has come back with further damage.

RH thinks the damages are most likely caused by the bike being in fixed position during the dyno.

RH is right IMO Lozzo - yes the coppers who made the initial tug did go too far, but they asked someone of a higher rank what was right and he mis-advised them. In this case its management that should get their knackers in a vice, not the plods.

Dont get me wrong, this whole situation stinks. Its incredibly bad press for the police, especially the damage to the bike and the crystal clear lies about the dyno. Hope it all gets sorted soon FB

FB - you seriously picked your bike up like that?! SERIOUSLY!? I would have absolutely done my nut and told them they could keep it and that you would see them in court for damages.
