I've gone for an Almax chain, electronic immobiliser and disk lock.

The disk lock has an alarm but it was too sensitive and kept going off which meant flat batteries and irritated neighbours. If your place is a bit more sheltered I'd go with the alarmed disk lock, but where I park mine is a bit of a wind tunnel.

where do you get the chain through a pointy frame?
my curvy had plenty of space between the frame and the engine to get a chain through but the pointy seems more compact

There isn't really anywhere for a big chain, but you can get one of those anti-pinch-pins that will slide through and attach the chain to that. I just put mine through the rear wheel and hope they can't be bothered removing it.

Takes literally 10 seconds to remove the rear wheel...just saying.

I already had the Almax series 3 with the Squire padlock so it was just buying the Anti-Pinch Pin.
The pinch pin only works with the Squire SS65CS as the pin has a recess where the lock sits in and lock onto.
Don't remember paying £45 for mine though, it was a long time ago though.

Ground Anchor and dirty big chain is the best defence, but still not as good as getting the bike out of site i.e. in a garage.

Google for Almax chains, you wont find better.

having been victim of a theft recently, our bikes were in a locked garage, chained to ground anchors.... and they still got stolen.

If they want them, they will take them. The only "defense" is you make yours look less like an easy steal than someone elses. Do all you can.. but the theiving scumbag @@@@'s will take it if they want it.

I'm going for Almax IV + Wall Anchor + Squire padlock + Alarmed disk lock.

If I get really paranoid I'll also get an IP Camera set up, and make sure its on show but out of reach.

Short of guarding it myself with a shotgun I dont think I can do much more...

But yeah, if they want it, I have no doubt they'll get it.
