No, loctite is manufacturer of "stuff"
they make all sorts... spray grease, freeze and release spray... gaskets... everything

Most of time when people say "loctite" they mean "threadlock" (of which loctite make dozens of different grades... most common 243 grade... general purpose medium strength) ... which is like a glue you pour onto a bolt, then tighten the bolt, the glue sets preventing the bolt from loosening through vibration.

Nyloc is different, it is a plastic ring on the top of the nut. You buy the nuts with it already on... they do same job... prevent vibration making fastener loosen itself.

Well here are the results, which I am quite pleased with. Certainly feels sturdy enough. Not bad for £30 top box and an hour faffing around.

I overcooked it on the length of the M8 bolts, so I'm going to get some M8x65 - they should fit perfectly.

Excuse crappy iPhone pics.

Well, just got to work on it half loaded with random crap (laptop, clothes etc) and I cant say I noticed any difference at highish speed (~110). New DB screen is a god send, I never realised how much I missed it!

Except now my back doesnt ache from carrying a rucksack, and I can carry more for work

That's 110 kph if any members of Her Majesty's Constabulary are reading this.
