![]() You may find this interesting. BBC I Player Program on the Closing of the cruel Mental Hospitals. It is a sad fact that being locked up in a mental hospital was sometimes for something as serious as having a child out of wedlock! Unwanted family members, people with learning disabilities and the actually mentally ill were often confined in these hospitals and treated worse than criminals. It was a good day when they started to consider person centered, care in the community for people trapped in these mental hospitals. The best bit of it all though, is it gives us folks into Urbex somewhere to play that has a creepy and dark history. ![]() I am really excited by the Urbex thing and would love to explore other places too, would love to look around some of the old industrial places that we have here in the UK. One web site I visited had an exploration of a former prison, that was creepy, but for a different reason. ![]() |

I dont know if people accept the dangers involved with entering these properties. They are exciting to go around, and especially when its history in a box which is untouched from the outside world, however most of the building are structurally unsafe and those which are safe, are usually riddled with asbestos. I like the photos that people seem to get from these places but wouldn't go round taking any myself.
