If you're going to do it then push the rear brake pads back into the calipers and drain the fluid so you can't apply it, even inadvertently. Or take caliper off entirely.
Your choice.

Why powder coat? The alloy torque arm from a SRAD or 'Busa is almost a straight swap. You need to enlarge one mounting hole. Lighter and matches the swing arm perfectly.

Don't do it. Once the torque arm holding bolt came lose and fell out while on motorway....Even without using the rear break the whole calliper turned from underside of swing arm and slammed in to topside, almost ripping the break line and bending the bleed bolt. I had no idea at the time apart from feeling the bang and bike slow down

Because the powder coating has cost me nothing as it's a favour and I won't have to mess about drilling holes.

As for moving the caliper to above the swing arm, what's the point? I've always wondered, is it thought of as an upgrade? The rear brake on mine is easily capable of locking up the back wheel but is still pretty useless under heavy braking. |

What mine? It's a ducati 999 caliper and hanger, about a pound lighter.
