Yes it IS technically true, but as said they became the standard for layout and as such, for a beginner, are acceptable in my opinon.
No book required. The HTML specification cleary lays out the table element's usage and even makes a point of saying it shouldn't be used as an aid for layout.

And not just technically true, but logically also. Would you write a novel in a spreadsheet program like Excel making use of cells to position headings, pull quotes and the likes? Bad example but you get the idea.

Just because tables for layout became a standard doesn't make it right. Could go back and forth but it'd derail this by quite a bit which I don't want to do...

(least it's keeping the thread up the top of recent posts for more people to see though )

The spec for an SV650 says to use parts X,Y and Z to form the suspension, doesn't stop people putting ZX-10 shocks and whole Gixxer front ends on them.

Besides, it wasn't her who made the choice - it was her software, probably because it doesn't talk CSS

Soulkiss - how could Meg make their pics not right-click copyable (if that is a word)?

I think the site looks good, top work

As others have said, it's clean and uncluttered, your work is what people wanna see and not loads of unnecessary content.

Best of luck with it, you are very talented.

Ps, when are you going to start drawing bikes ???

Wow, your drawings are awesome!

As for the website, it's great for your first one. If you delve in further, for longer, you will slowly pick up more and more knowledge of html etc which fur your purpose is more than adequate.
I used to learn by finding sites I liked and then either viewing the source code, or saving the index file and opening it up in my own WYSIWYG software such as MS Frontpage.

A note on your website, I can't quite see all the typing on Commissions page as it seems to be restricted by the table it's in. Internet Explore version 6 was fine but ver 8 cut the ends off. You've probably set the width as a percentage of the screen size I imagine.

Eh? Her website says she is starting with animals, or is this another one of your very poor attempts at sarcasm ?
