I have some HI-ART gear and TBH I'd rather fall off in leathers. Leathers tend to have lots of layers in impact/slide points where textiles you're 100% relying on armour for that job. When you see someone fall off somewhere wrong side of 150 and they get up slightly scuffed, I think the 3 second vs 11 second thing is BS only applicable to specific testing. Leathers are cheap, £50 will see you with a set dead easy.

Apologies if that sounded harsh, my halvarssons jacket (HiART) has stood up to more than it's fair share of offs

Not at all - I love my Halvarssons jacket, but can understand track conditions are completely different to the road.
