Luggage/topbox rack wanted
Hi all,
Should be picking up my sv650 on Wednesday and im going to need a rack. I'd prefer a givi style, dont necessarily need the top plate just the arms but I'd consider a renntec style rack as well. Thanks! Quick |

Re: Luggage/topbox rack wanted
If you're looking at Givi then you will need the 529FZ arms, M5M plate and a Monolock Box. All in all the arms and plate are £100 and the boxes range from £100 upwards. Givi, IMO, are the best out there. You do pay the price but you get the quality in return.
What luggage do you need/want to carry? Does it need to be waterproof? Does it need to hold a large capacity? |

Thanks for the heads up. I prefer the givi ones as well. The box is just used for carrying my rucksack as i don' like it on my back when riding and just the odd bit of shopping.

I forgot to ask, what year is your SV?
This is mine with the arms and rack on: If you go on the Givi website and put in your bike details it will show you all available accessories for your bike |

Re: Luggage/topbox rack wanted
I have got very similar on my bike as daddyjob, does the job very well, might i suggest though that instead of the m5m top plate that he mentioned, to get the givi m11 top plate as it is a tubular and monokey so more secure for affixing the top box. It also makes it more possible to bungee cord anything to the back as the m5 plate doesnt really have places to secure bungee hooks

And, if you don't need to carry a pillion, a cheaper option is the rear seat with a plate bolted on:

Re: Luggage/topbox rack wanted
Love the simplicity of your solution Furry Ginger one. As for pillion, it's a possibility so a proper rack will need to be bought. My GF has always pillioned on my bike but has her own 125cc now so it is only longer trips she gets on the back. Not sure how well she'll cope on the back of the SV, my outgoing bike is a triumph sprint st which is brilliant for pillions.
