Despite being an antagonistic begger on her your are actually a pretty witty writer mate. I enjoyed that. Having experience with t'other half on road trips I can empathise. I always drive "too fast" or "too close" or "too agressive".. but god forbid you ask them to drive

I think this face says it all - "you said we would only be on the bike for 3 hours a day - it's been 9 already" teehee

There's no way I'd go touring on the bike with the doris. No way in hell. I'd need a sidecar just to take her luggage.

Ah well she had sent on "essential" supplies with my folks who we were meeting in the south of France. She also flew back so I could play on the way home.

But yeah, in hind sight it was a crap idea. You can't filter properly with hard luggage and the prod in the kidneys every time we found a nice corner grew a bit tiresome. I think she was starting to "get it" a bit by the end of the trip though.

I tend to reserve two weeks of leave a year to do something with her, and use the rest for trips with mates. There's no point trying to have the two overlap because it just ends up as an awkward compromise that leaves nobody happy.

Looking at perhaps riding to the Black Sea next year. Looks pretty straightforward, apart from the return leg via Croatia which means crossing bandit country. Suffice to say, if I do it, she won't be on that trip.

Good thread! I find it so hard making Sophie aware of what she can or can't do.

I had to pull over the last time we rode as I was getting pushed into the tank. She was under the impression she couldn't move an inch!
