Re: Pulled for doing 70 mph in a 40 zone ooops
It sounds like a let off... for the speeding.
Unless you're disabled, English is a second language or you're an American there are not too many excuses for lousy grammar. It could even be construed as disrespect towards those reading it. There are a few people here who post from their phones and do a decent job of tapping out legible posts. |

Actually without turning this into a grammar bashing, I post more often than not from my phone and it does a decent job of correcting typing mistakes etc.

On the subject in hand, I would say you were ridiculously lucky. That's not just points; that's ban territory. If I got caught doing 70 in a 40, I would expect to be standing up in court, watching the judge tearing up my license while laughing in my face.
Play the mid week lottery today mate.

Probably not a fully legal nick or he would have done you.If he didnt have an accurate speed figure on you for some reason so just put the frighteners on.
Or maybe he was off duty in ten minutes and didnt want the hassle.

Lucky to get away with that. Can only assume he had no video/speed calibrated evidence and couldn't be bothered with paper work!
Oh look, grammar police are out to play again. Never gets old. Yawn! |

Can't believe you got away with that! I thought once you got caught doing more than 30 mph over the posted limit you got an automatic court date and a ban.

Re: Pulled for doing 70 mph in a 40 zone ooops
I was caught under similar but naughtier circumstances. 90 in a 30.
4:30 am in the height of summer, straight road, absolutely clear and I could see for a mile. As I flew by a side road, damm there he is. Hopefully catching up on his kip. I just knew as the blue light appeared in the distance behind me. But hopefully he had just been given a job to do. Through the traffic lights (on green) and onto the motorway. Damm those lights got closer. So pulled over onto the hard shoulder of the slip road and he pulls in behind me. You were going a bit quick there. I suppose so, but it was nice and clear, I had good visibility. Yes but you didn't see me until you passed. But I would have seen you if you had been at the junction waiting to pull out. Now what if I had been a drink driver or an idiot and just pulled out. Then we are both in trouble. Good lad, what is the speed on ......... Lane? 30! What were you doing? A little bit more than that. A bit more than a little! Think on, it is not always what you do. I know you had good visibility and were enjoying the ride. But sometimes sods law applies. slow down on these roads and ride safely. Bye The attitude test is the best weapon in the cops armoury. I don't do silly on that stretch of road anymore.
