Blimey, you've been spending Mr Carey. Make sure you get a 2012 reverb, my 2011 isn't even 6 months old and is playing up.

I'm probably going to be blowing a **** load of cash on a cane creek double barrel, 2012 tapered 160mm Fox Float 36 FIT RLC with Kashima and 20QR and 20mm axle adapter for my front pro 2.

Will be keeping my Factory RP23 and Float 32 RLCs and swap them around depending on where I'm going.

We just need to get you back out on yours now when you get time see if we can keep up with you now since all you single speed commuting action

Mate you will still be killing me. Problem is that road use is a doddle in comparison......plus, still not lost weight as enjoying food too much! Lol. So not picking up pace etc.

And according to the add it is the 2012 model. Cant wait to get all the bits.

Ta muchly in advance loike
Hi Viney, me old china.

Lycra louts are in the road cycling thread

How rough are these woodland tracks? Like Drew mentioned any cyclocross tyres would be capable enough unless you hit a small mire.

If this is your bike
then it's got Mavic XM117 rims which can fit any size from 26x1.00 to 26x2.10

The other thing you may also have to consider is clearance room between the larger tyre and seatstays.

Eyup guys,

think I popped my head in here a while ago but not been back for a long while. Similar problem to drew (hi drew xxx), I can knock out 10 miles on the road in under an hour easy peasy...

A few of us from the pennine massive went to dalby forest to do the red route in june last year and oh my days I thought I was going to die within the first 15 minutes of up hill climbing. I had no choice so just kept going........ for 19 miles. Think I got back to the finish about 30 minutes after everyone else lol.

This time though I want to enjoy it a bit more - what sort of training should I be doing? Need to get some weight off anyway and have been in the gym over the last 2 weeks, but would interval training be good for proper MTB action? Or should I just focus on getting my weight off and it will follow naturally?

Howdy pal. Xxx

From my expereince so far, lose weight and get out on the mtb more. Only solution. If you fancy a weekend riding with a like minded fatty (meant with love) then give me a buzz and can sort something. Least we would both have company when shattered and walking up hills as have no juice left!! Lol

for me its still fun as love all the downhill parts on trails. When I did Dalby with G and DMC I nearly threw the towel in.....but kept at it as they spurred me on. Ended up doing the full route.

I can't ride hills either.

Losing weight with interval training, Luckypants does spin classes and cycles a lot and he tackles hills no problems or something like this would help.

My new goodies turned up Friday...

Can't wait to get it all fitted so I can go out at the weekend and destroy some rocky descents in the Peaks. Float 36 FIT RLC forks with Kashima and Cane Creek Double Barrel both custom tuned by TF Tuned, they cost double my original Cube MTB

Yep saddle time is the best thing for improving, Gym is boring and doesn't help as much as forcing yourself through the pain barrier and up a hill.
