Default Buy a bike that's done 30 trackdays?

Would you buy a 1000cc road bike that had done around 30 track days, if you knew it had been very well serviced at more than the correct intervals, with two of three oil and filter changes a year, never been down the road and well looked after ? Overall milage about 26000.

Are you thinking of selling your thou? I would if it was the right bike, but all comes down to how much. I would want to pay slightly less than one which hadn't been tracked probably

I would. It would take more than 30 TD's to knacker a well looked after engine

Yes, no reason not to. If it's been suitably treated - which is true whatever bike you buy, tracked or not - it'll likely be in better condition than the ones that have been commuted all their sorry lives, and left unused in a garage for several months over the winter.

And seeing as it's a 1000cc machine it won't have been worked that hard - it's not a 250 two stroke.

I assumed 'never been down the road' meant 'never been down the track' either.

Grass, gravel traps, tyre walls... lol

Anyway, if it sounds alright and shifts gears alright 30 trackdays wouldn't bother me at all.

yeah, me too - if all the usual stuff checks out, then what's the big deal? at least you know its history - how many bikes for sale have done that many TDs or worse and you never get told?

You have sussed me out there, and it is only thinking. I genuinely want to know what people think. The SV thou is my only bike and I've been doing 5 or 6 trackdays a year on her and the next is her 30th. I also ride to and from every trackday. There are about 9 or ten of us rocking up to each event now and everybody else ( except one part timer ) is bringing dedicated trackbikes with WOW's and warmers to the event. I'm tempted to go that route myself, but the thou would have to go to finance the package. I don't want to convert the SZ because she is still VGC, with no crashes. I just don't know what to do ? Here is some footage of her last outing at Oulton in October. See how easily the GSXR750K7 eats her up. The white CBR at Shell is a young club racer on his race bike.
