Had the sport version on my SV for 3 years now, no issue on comfort.
Grip is starting to wear a little now. But wouldn't be without them in the real depths of winter. Had the same ones on my YBR before for nearly two years too. My next bike would also get them on it.. Plus one for wiring through ignition.

There's a convenient switched spare terminal on the fuse box. However Bibio's gadget is a near perfect solution.

I just got a pair of the sports ones got them cheap I have them through Lances Gizmo (triumph version) & they are great.
weird thing is I was asked to find where I bought them and can't find it anywhere. maybe they just appeared out of no where.

Hi
I have just fitted the touring grips and they were ok over a longish distance ( 150 miles) which was my last trip. They were wired as per the instruction just to the battery and I have left them on a few times by mistake and the auto cut of has worked well. |

The auto off feature works great. I've had no issues with it and they turn off almost as soon as the ignition is switched off. I did buy the stuff to wire them into the ignition but haven't bothered it's not needed.

Thanks a lot for all of your responses so far - it's been interesting and very helpful to hear your personal experiences. I'll let you all know the set up once I have ordered and installed the grips.
Keep the feedback coming... ![]() |

+1 on Oxford sport wired thru' a bibio gizmo - ideal solution to those numb little pinkies.
Use grips with summer gloves on chilly morning / evenings at the moment and can't say hands get sore, never notice if grips are hard. Did 4 x 275 mile days the other week with them on most of the time, just turning the heat up and down as required. Word of warning, if you have goretex gloves - heated grips makes goretex work the other way and they are no longer waterproof !!! Found this out last year, did 150 miles with soggy warm hands !!! LoL

From the feedback so far, it does seem that the newest grips (perhaps the ones with the v8 controller) use a more intelligent power cut off which is almost instant with no battery drain/significant drop in voltage.
I will have a play once ordered and fitted... |

^ This is a little concerning. Has anyone else had this experience?

its the nature of goretex. i would go as far to say that its the nature of all breathable technical fabrics as they require heat and mosture to travel one way so if the heat and moisture levels are reversed the permeable surface on the fabric also reverses.
