The pub has said they will stay open for as long as we need • Excellent local roads which are well travelled by the GM ride-out attendees • Varied route taking in various roads from fast swoopers to hard-core nadgery • Run leadership from experienced GM run leaders • Marking support from riders with local knowledge • Thick skinned organisers who will have no problem at all in ignoring unwelcome input. Costs The only costs attendees are expected to cover (other than their own travel) is the fee for the campsite; £5 per person/per night for camping & vans (standard Vans, not caravans/sleeper vans-please see below) £12 per night per camper van, sleeper van, caravan + £4 per night for electric hook up We will have a welcome/sign in book to make sure we account for all people camping & to collect the fee. Food The pub serves food as per the times on their website and as per this menu; http://www.thebrucearms.net/index.htm Facilities -The campsite has on site shower & toilet facilities that are open 24/7. -Lots of Hard standing area to park (should the conditions be less than dry) -A Games room with darts, pool and skittles etc to keep you entertained Contacts DaddyJob (Jobe) *others to be added* Disclaimer This event is not covered by any insurance provided by the organisers, all attendees will journey to/from and take part in the event entirely at their own risk. Camping and Beer drinking Camping in the field behind The Bruce Arms Pub 1 field of about 2 acres. An informal camp site that is often used by other car and bike clubs. We have secured use of the fields, however there maybe non forum campers there too. There is a shower & toilet block available 24/7, as well as a washing up sink & washing machine. There is a large hard standing area on which we shall gather prior to the ride for the marshalling. We can also park here should the field conditions be a bit slippery. Summary of facilities Camping – Yes Camper vans - Yes Power – Yes Showers – Yes Food – Pub restaurant + local shops Petrol – 2 stations both within a couple of miles Alternative accommodation – Please see accommodation thread Super market/off-license – 2 miles away in Pewsey Ride Details A 100 mile route set within the Wiltshire countryside. The route is a good mix of fast open sections, to tight and twisty roads with switchbacks. As per usual we will be using a drop marker system. We ask all those attending the ride to allow the markers to make safe & swift progress through the group so they can return to the front. We may have parts along the route where the pace is slowed or stopped in order to allow the markers and others to re-group. This maybe due to junctions or traffic lights that may cause a large gap to open. Certain junctions (roundabouts, crossroads) will *not* be marked. No marker on a junction is a sign to take the junction straight across. This will only be on simple junctions where no confusion can be made. The lunch stop will be 1 hour long, from the last person arriving. We will brief people before we leave to ensure everyone is aware of the leaving time. The town has a large supermarket with a Petrol Station along with a Wetherspoons and a few cafes. You are free to do as you want for lunch, so long as you are back to the leaving point by the agreed time. Pictures of the location; Last edited by DJ123; 08-03-15 at 07:23 PM. Re: Information Thread
Update on food.
The pub currently doesn't have a chef, so you'll have to supply your own. The local village, Pewsey has a Chinese, indian and a fish and chip shop. So you have plenty of choice. Just don't forget cutlery if you need any!! There is also a co op supermarket where you can buy other food and of course alcohol. |
