Sort of DIY tail tidy
I decided to try to combine a tail tidy and part of the origional mudguard ( to hopefully overcome the water ingress issues that can arise with a tail tidy ) and this is what I came up with . It's sort of a half way house between an aftermarket tail tidy and the OEM Suzuki part . In fact I still have an complete Evotech tail tidy system in a box left over after the experiment !

Re: Sort of DIY tail tidy
Do the tail today's not come with something to fill the gap?
When I had mine fitted to my old SV it came back with rubbery spongey bits where the holes would be. Figured it must have come with the unit?

Re: Sort of DIY tail tidy
Yeah I just fitted a tail tidy and was going to ask about water issues now - is there a solution to this? I haven't been out in the rain yet but I can imagine water being flicked up into the pillion seat compartment...

Re: Sort of DIY tail tidy
I did not want the rear light exposed to the water and muck etc: being thrown up by the back wheel in bad weather as I use the bike all year round so that's when I came up with the idea of having the number plate moved back just far enough to act as a mudguard of sorts to prevent this whereas a tail tidy usually sits further forward . Not to every ones liking I know but it does what I want it to . Complete Evotech tail tidy now listed in the for sale section as experiment now complete and is now surplus to requirements .
