Default SV1000 clutch

So I think an SV1000 clutch is a slipper and am thinking of getting one for my 650S. Is it a slipper and has anybody done this/was it worth it?!

Cheers

+10

Only clunk is the same as all other bikes I've had e.g first gear from neutral. After that and the,"Clutch Mantra",

http://www.svrider.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54588

It's so light and breezy it's almost an,"Automatic".

Tip/s:

Before you do the Clutch Mantra take the clutch cable off and lube it,"Old School" dripping 3-in-1 oil down the cable until it drips out of the bottom. It makes the cable and changes super-slick

By the time I'm thinking of getting into 6th I'm in 6th

Goddam love this SV

learn to blip the throttle properly its cheeper. you dont need to go crashing down the box on a v twin. even if you do momentarily lock the back wheel on a downshift its microseconds and should not be while turning in as you should be in the correct gear by forward planning.

+100!!!

My SV is the same in this aspect as my old CX500s.V-Twins the throttle down is part of the braking system IMHO and the,"Engine Braking" is there to be learnt and used and a joy when mastered.

Feel the machine,it's V-Twin thing

Watch this guy on an SV650

Yep that's how I learnt about blipping the throttle, shaft drive is unforgiving to the rear tyre if you didn't.
