Pointy tank
Hey guys,
Been out of the SV game for a while but am looking at getting the track bike back up and running. She's been mothballed for 6 years so there's a good chance I'm going to have a rusty tank. The one's on ebay are silly money so thought I'd see on here if anyone has a spare! It's a K4 and I don't mind a dent here or there but ideally it'd look pretty smart. Anyway, if anyone has anything let me know! Dave

Re: Pointy tank
Not sure if they are interchangeable but I have an 2010 SV tank "its the blue and white strip one" that is basicly brand new had only done circa 1000 miles and has been boxed carefully ever since it does have one mark on it after a rogue shelf caught it.
If it fits i'll get it out a photopgraph it

Re: Pointy tank
That sounds perfect! Maybe someone on here could confirm it'll fit but I suspect it will.
Do you want to PM me with a price? May have to wait till next month though as funds are a bit low at the mo!

Re: Pointy tank
I'll get some photos today, to be honest its never going to be worth what I paid for a brand new replacement, once I have uploaded the photos just let me know what you think is fair and then well sort something.
Are you still in biggleswade? I am near Leeds.

Re: Pointy tank
Sounds good mate.
Yeah I'm in Biggleswade so it'll probably have to be posted really, unless any kind soul is driving down the A1 and can do a pickup/drop off. I'm not in any rush though and I do occasionally have to drive up that way for work. Let's see...

Re: Pointy tank
Can anyone confirm that a 2010 tank will fit on a 2004? I presume it will...?

Re: Pointy tank
yes they are all the same. pretty much all parts from k4 onwards will fit pointys with exception of a few parts from pointy K7 onwards twin spark but these are mostly electrical and engine related.
same goes for some of the k3 parts except the rear due to the straight subframe. if your bike has a kink in the rear subframe legs then the bike is classed as k4> (some later k4 have silver frames with kinked legs). if the bike has straight rear subframe legs then its classed as k3 (all silver fames). people assume that if the frame is silver then its a k3.. its not so you must check the rear subframe legs. |
