Re: The new Norton
More a case that you got unlucky from my position, but atleast there was after sales and it's not like you wont find an alternative dealership for a triumph if you have real issues with your local one.
If one bike has made you reluctant to get another of the same brand that's your call, I would probably be the same if I wasn't so fortunate....but I wouldn't hesitate in buying another and probably will in due course I had a KTM too which apparently are even worse for reliability but would love another one of those...seriously contemplating a 790 adventure to replace my tiger in a couple of years, just want to get to year 2 of production first. As for a Norton or Jawa I would definitely be more concerned...they are a complete unknown entity and have limited after sales support services...better to stick with the bigger names if you ask me so if there are issues they'll be addressable easily...sounds like you ought to stay with Suzuki (I have one )

Re: The new Norton
I like it too. Id change the headlamp but otherwise a nice bike. I would not pay £10k for one though.

The new Norton
The point of the Superlight is not a 650 per se. You can't compare that with the price of an SV just because it's a 650. Look at that spec
105bhp 75 Nm Ohlins all round All carbon fibre bodywork 3 ride modes Ride by wire Traction control Wheelie control Launch control Carbon fibre wheels 158 kg What the spec doesn't mention is the supercharger. It's effectively a proof of concept vehicle trying to recover some research funding. Last edited by Red ones; 17-11-18 at 10:29 AM. |

Is this going to make the specs for the Lightweight TT? Would be interesting to see some more serious competition for the Kwakasaki dominance of the past few years.

That arch is clearly priced for the hollywood fashion icons amongst us lol, If going down the muscle cruiser route I would much prefer a rocket 3 with all the patalina mods for well under £20K...220NM of 2.3L rocket goodness too instead of that air cooled junk e.g.

If I wanted a muscle cruiser again I know what I'd want again, that bike was worth its price tag! And still is second hand...

What a pity, there have been so many false starts for Norton in the modern era, this one got really close to making it over the hump (I recall the Kenny Drear effort getting to about the same point when I was living in Va). The bikes looked very nice (if a bit pricey), but I’d wonder why anyone would buy one instead of a modern Triumph (I’ve had 4 of them, the last two being air cooled twins - all have been excellent bikes).
