Default Correct forks distance through upper yoke.

Hi all

SV650N 2002, K1, naked.

Can anyone tell how much the forks should protrude through the upper yoke.

On mine it is 5/8 of an inch measured excluding the hexagonal section. The previous owner did a lot of changes so it is likely not standard.

I want to put the bike back to it's original geometry.

Thanks

This was my curvy from way back. Ignore the handlebars.

Thanks. Looks like mine has been lowered at the front.

I would guess so. I never thought my SV was particularly slow to steer so I'm surprised that your previous owner lowered the front and raised the back. Must be quite twitchy.

My only ride so far has been about 90 minutes to bring it home. I was riding cautiously so not really a good test. I want to put everything back to original factory and then can make changes if anything is needed.

I think IIRC the naked forks were flush with the yokes and on the faired bike the forks protruded by 1cm. The naked swingarm is also 1cm longer than the faired bike.

Thanks. I've been looking at loads of old pics online. Majority the forks are flush or protruding by about half a cm

the stanchion top excluding the cap should be 6mm from the top of the yoke. for some reason the US ones are 3mm. as far as i know this is for the N and the S.
