Re: The running thread.
Well done Adam. Dark runs on the trails are good fun.

Re: The running thread.
If you have your cadence logged, see if it matches - with optical heart rate monitors, they're looking for tiny changes in colour as blood flows which can be overloaded by the bigger signal of you swinging your arms around. I used to have one which would always pick up my cadence for a while before locking in to the heart rate. 176 is a pretty reasonable cadence.

Re: The running thread.
Absolutely glorious social canicross run with a couple of friends on Saturday. Six miles from Mitchell's Fold to Bromlow Callow and back in a loop.
Walked it two or three times before but really wanted to run it as well, so we did on Saturday. Fab sunny, crisp weather too. |

Re: The running thread.
I went out for run with our dog this afternoon. She ran off after deer. Came back ten minutes later and then ran off again. I ran 4k. She must have run about 10!

Re: The running thread.
Have you thought about getting some canicross kit Adam? Run hitched to the dog. Huge fun and makes hills a lot easier!

Re: The running thread.
I think I'd be dragged along behind her!
Headed out again today on my own. Had an itch to push myself and go further than before. Managed it too. Not fast but I managed 15k. Previous max effort was 11k and usually nearer 6k. Now exhausted.

Re: The running thread.
The idea is that she pulls you along, you just use a mix of commands and use of the lead to control that. Canicross runners with a dog who pulls are generally 10 - 15% faster than an equivalent unaccompanied runner.
A good distance there, well done. So much of it is about pacing. |

Re: The running thread.
Early, 4.4 mile run with Mabel. Cloudy but ridiculously warm.
Mabel has now had breakfast and is snoozing in her bed. |

Re: The running thread.
Very slow, but very enjoyable social canicross run this morning with 8 or 9 of us. Definitely not a serious run, lots of stops to chat and look at the view.
