Nothing on the button
Hi all just got a problem with my 2000 curvy 650s. Started fine, rode fine, went to see someone the went to restart the bike and nothing on the start button. I’ve tried bypassing the clutch switch and still nothing. I got it started by crossing the starter solonoid, put the stand down and put it in gear and it stopped the engine. I’ve checked the fuses on the solonoid and all good. Had to restart it using the solonoid to get it home. Anyone got any ideas? Electrical gremlins are my kryptonite.

Re: Nothing on the button
It is supposed to stop when you put it in gear with the side stand down; to stop you riding off with it down. It sounds like it is just your starter solenoid, but you should check the battery voltage whilst not running and check it is slightly higher when it is running, to rule out the regulator rectifier. Battery output not running should be about 12.5v and running it should be between 13.5v but under 15.0v at 5000rpm
