Default This here lovely SV650s....

Just took the bike out. Not far, just to y Trallwng/Welshpool and back, so about a 25 mile round trip.

Bike's not been started for about 4 weeks, and I never thought to hook up a battery tender, so there wasn't quite enough in the battery to turn the engine over fast enough to start the bike. On with the charger for 45 minutes and away she went.

And how nice it was to ride the old girl again. These bikes are an absolute joy to ride. I'm reminded of this every time I go out on it.

I'll try not to leave it so long before I ride again next time....

Must change that rear tyre though.

There's nothing quite like a few weeks off the bike to make you appreciate just how well they go. Before Christmas I hadn't ridden for about 7 weeks, and I had the same experience as you: what an absolutely joy.

When I opened it up on the local 'mad mile' on my way home I was really quite surprised at how quickly I got into 3 figures with just a snap of the wrist in 6th: no need to row through the gears, the engine snarls and pulls like a greyhound after a rabbit. SVs have soul.

Went to take the bikes out Sunday but the wife's ER6 didn't have enough juice to fire. Chucked it on the optimate and will rearrange our day out.

I use my SV650 all year round as it's my only Automotive transport. How come if I go to the shops on it,which are say a couple of miles away ,when I get home me fully working trip meter says I've done 30+ miles <grin>

I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. I'll tax the bike on March 1st which isn't far off.

Nice little ride to Newtown today, if a bit cautious on the cold wet roads. Had a meeting to train for surveying footpaths, so I decided the bike was preferable to a ton of car. Lovely route over the tops from Llanfyllin - Llanfair Caereinion - Felin Newydd - Tregynon - Cefn Mawr and Y Drenewydd. Damp roads but sunny.
Coming back was less enjoyable with the rain and disappearing daylight, so I came back via the main road to Welshpool and on to Llanfyllin.

Now need to wash the bike.

And I really do need to change that rear tyre!
