A look at life in 1971
Here's an ITV World In Action doco from 1971, in which John Pilger focuses on the life of a dye mill worker in Sheffield.
An amazing look back at English life at the time, from the hazardous working conditions to domestic life, trade unions versus factory owners, and an insight into wages and the cost of living at the time. It's anything but nostalgic. I was 7 at the time this was filmed, and it certainly reflects the life that me and my schoolfriends had. |
