Birthday hike pictures.
A collection of pictures from the big hike. The first two days were largely sunny and warm, but the wind was cold. The temperatures absolutely plummeted on the evening of the second day while we were camped on Crib-y-rhiw at just under 2200ft. I did actually think we were going to get frosted overnight but in the event it wasn't quite cold enough. Thank goodness for decent quality kit though!
The final day was very cold and cloudy but at least it didn't start raining until we were at lower levels. The last 7 miles or so down to y Bermo were in fairly steady rain so we were glad to make it down and get into Davy Jones Locker for hot food and drinks. I must say they were very welcoming to us - four wet people and large rucksacks, and three wet dogs. I've spent the last couple of days quietly at home with Jan, catching up on sleep and good food! And we'll do it all again next year for Teri's 70th birthday! Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Home again! Last edited by garynortheast; 15-06-24 at 03:24 PM. |

Re: Birthday hike pictures.
Awesome scenery. Looks like a great adventure to mark the occasion.
Thanks for the pics Having the knowledge and the right gear for something like that is obviously very important. Something I definitely lack, and the physical fitness! |

Superb Gary, definitely the paths less travelled. The Rhinogs hold a certain foreboding for me as they are so unforgiving, so I'm pretty impressed. My dodgy hip would stop any mountain climbing shenanigans these days, even if I was actually fit enough.
Would you be able to post a graphic of your approximate route? |

I'll post the strava links when I get home Mike, they have each days route on a map.
