Just had the battery replaced on my Focus. My last car (earlier model Focus) had a battery failure when it was about six years old so as my current one is heading for that age, and as the stop-start never worked after it was laid up for 18 months during Covid, I insisted on a new one as it was in for regular service anyway. The shop thought I was nuts but the cost of fitting a direct replacement* was well over £300!!!!
* The car has a battery management system and if you fit a different spec to standard it does not know how to cope and the car dies three days later. Ask me how I know ...
