Yes, the Avon Storm fronts on my old pointy S used to cup very noticeably, because of the stock & unmodified forks with crap damping. On my Gen 3's stock forks (which are miles better than the Gen 2), same tyres, same pressure, zero cupping.

Is that too little or too much rebound damping that causes the cupping? I have Maxton cartridge conversions on the front and get a little cupping, but the rear, with a ZX10R shock, is more severe, even though I feel the ride quality is superior to the standard shock. I should mention that I got a lot less cupping with the Avon Storm 3D XM rear, compared to the Avon Spirit ST rear, but I suspect that is because the Spirit ST has, relatively, more grooves/less land area in the tread pattern.

Too little, I believe (based on the cupping I got with my pointy S, which had the woefully under-damped and crap standard forks)
