Default Last chance to buy a new SV

This December is the last chance to buy a new SV650. I was at my dealer this morning and he confirmed that they will not be taking orders for the SV650 nor the DL650 (Vstrom) and any bike advertised after that would have been registered in Dec.

It's a shame, but 25+ years of the same basic engine design is pretty good going. It must be quite a profitable bike for Suzuki, as the costs of the tooling etc for the engine must have been recouped many years ago.

It'll be very sad to see the end of the SV. In my view it's still a useful and relevant bike for the time, especially when you look at the rise in popularity of a number of other bikes of similar capacity and performance.

Bike magazine has had many articles this year on anniversary bikes, such as 25 years of the Hayabusa and 40 years of the GSXR but no mention of the SV which debuted at the same time as the Hayabusa. It's a very under appreciated bike.
