Default What was the last CD you bought...

...and why?

I have just bought two. " Aqualung" by Jethro Tull since I've not owned the full album before, although listened to it many times. A flute in a rock band? Sure. Along the way I have learned that flutter tongue is a way of making the flute make a trilling type of sound and vocalising whilst playing is difficult (because of breath control). I also learned that Ian Anderson's daughter told him (after her lessons) that he was playing the flute incorrectly (and so he changed his style).

"Relayer" by Yes. This makes it a kind of full circle since the very first Yes concert I saw was for Relayer at the Colston Hall in Bristol when I was stationed at RAF Locking for training back in 1975/6 (?). Since music was a serious business at my then young age, I was in partial mourning since Rick Wakeman had quit and been replaced by Patrick Moraz. (the world didn't end).

Got the Mrs the last "Take That" CD, it was on her Christmas list.

We don't have a CD player...

Not even in the car or PC & the PS5 doesn't play CDs
We can still play vinyl though

Last one I bought was the 'Found '77 mixes' of the Heartbreakers' 'LAMF', which was a properly mastered version of the original 1977 Track Records LP (which suffered a mastering fault that sludged the sound). The recording was mastered from the 'safety' copies of the original final stereo mixes which were found in the personal effects of Track Records' Danny Secunda after his death. The tapes had been thought to be long since lost after Track's bankruptcy in late '77. That made it the fifth version of the album I've bought (to go with the original Track LP, original Track cassette, the 1984 remix, and the mid-90s 'Lost 77 mixes').

I've actually sold most of my vinyl and CDs over the past year, apart from the really irreplaceable stuff: I now stream music 99.9% of the time.

If anyone is looking to sell vinyl then gives a shout. Also i have a ultrasonic record cleaner and vacuum cleaning machine so if anyone i can do a record cleaning service for those precious albums.
