Farm vehicles dropping huge mud slicks right across a main A-road. Nearly had me off this afternoon: rounded a an open bend at around 50mph, to see a fresh slick of mud all the way across my lane for 50 yards. It was the SV that kept me upright, even though the back end was wagging like a dirt-tracker. I just kept the throttle open, didn't touch the brakes and hoped. Anyone going a little faster, or hitting the brakes, would have been off.

Even worse, now I've got to wash the bike as it's plastered

Have you reported to the council? It might not get cleaned (probably not) but the farmer can be fined for not cleaning up. Hitting a farmer in the pocket usually focuses the mind.

I have just done so - didn't see what vehicle dropped it but the mud was very fresh.

Just discovered my car tax had run out when I received a penalty notice from the DVLA. I never received the V11 tax reminder, despite them telling me it was sent. Just cost me £80 instead of just £35 for the tax. Grrr!

I use the vehicle smart app for this, don't rely on the DVLA (or the post office) to be competent.

Funny this came up. I got an email today from the DVLA telling me that my yearly DD was coming to and end but to do nothing and it will be auto-renewed. I'll be keeping an eye online just in case :/

My VED coincides with the MOT and I get multiple reminders. My gripe is it is going up for my EV from £0 to £195. This is the first time VED changes have been retrospective. Our little petrol car is still £20 a year as it has been since 2016.
