Can't whack a slab of cake

Daughter visiting today, just back from a good walk in the sun. Waiting for the ice-cream van to come!

No rain here in Shrewsbury so far today Mike. We had some in Llanfyllin last night though, and I wouldn't be sorry to see some more.

Enjoy the ice cream Craig.

To be honest, I'm astonished I made it to retirement, given my...aah..."lifestyle" for the last 10 years I was in Medway and up to the age of 31. Back then I fully expected to be either dead or in prison by the age of 40! Fortunately I managed to escape that particularly sordid and nihilistic scene with the move up here 40 years ago.

Morning all. We had a bit of rain overnight, which has saved me having to water the veg beds this morning. There's no more predicted now till Saturday though, so I may be back to the watering again by tomorrow.
A day of online meetings and phone calls to chase up stuff that should be happening but isn't. Hopefully I'll get into the garden too, lots to do there.

What's in store for everyone else?

Quiet day today, shattered after a longer-than-expected walk with daughter yesterday. It used a spoon or two too many, I think

Morning all. Sunny again here today until this evening, then a few days of rain forecast. Well, it is a bank holiday weekend after all! I shall be glad not to have to be lugging watering cans about any further than the greenhouse for a while.

Busy day gardening for someone yesterday. I finished emptying and sieving one of their compost bays and bagging the compost for them to use, then turned the adjacent bay of compost. Quieter day today. Just a meeting with the Powys RoW officer in preparation for me starting to survey local footpaths and reporting on their condition. There are a lot locally which need sorting with blockages, broken stiles, falling down gates etc.

Hope you're a bit recovered now Craig.

What's everyone up to this weekend?

A useful day so far. Meeting went well and I followed it up with some time spent planting stuff in the garden. Just been to look at my pond and as well as a Large Red damselfly, there is now a Common Blue damselfly whizzing about there.
