Default Pillions who fall asleep

Seems like Hannah (my lovely GF) is prone to this. Was a bit of a shock when she just fell on me!

Hate to think what might have happened if she had fallen off (eek! ). Any tips to minimise the chances of her falling off?

I've not fallen asleep as a pillion since I was about 6, but talking to people who've had adults fall asleep on the back, it seems that they lean more naturally into corners and are generally better behaved.

I knew someone would answer that, yet plenty of people have told me its a common thing for pillions to do.

I think it was due to the fact that she was cold, but even if she was jacked up with pro plus after lots of sleep and a nice warm gear setup, she still might fall asleep which is why I am asking for tips!

A girl fell off the pillion seat of a bike on the A30 last week just north of Old Basing, we passed it just as the paramedics arrived so didn't get involved. She is critical in hospital still.

It is unclear why she fell off and is likely to be either that she had fallen asleep or that the suspension of the bike was not set correctly and she was bucked off, there is a compression point in the road and it will get a badly set up bike all out of sorts.
