Working in and arround hospitals has numbed me a little, but it's still an eye opener. I have maintained that I will where the bike gear, no matter how hot it gets.

Even with Anna when she wanted to ride pillion, I made sure she was kitted out with proper gear.

Does make you think though. Going to have to do that Google search, curious to see what it throws up.

Cheers

Rich

People always seem to mention the 'idiots on big bikes'. However, don't forget that even a 50cc will easily get up to enough speed to cause any of the injuries in the photos.

Don't make the mistake of thinking you're any safer on yer scooter

Howard..many thanks for the link but I am going to pass thx. Reason for this is that I stumbled in to some xxxx rated accident pics a short while ago and frankly they stunned me. I therefore already get the message and though I have never really bothered with all the kit in many years of riding. Today I have full leathers, boots etc and always wear them despite the summer sweltering here!

Ever since i went over the bars in a lowly 30mph side on only to see the friction MELT through 3 layers of heavy duty all year gortex and rip my trousers i've NEVER gone out without full gear.

I just have to think that if that had been me in shorts or regular jeans it would of gone through to flesh and i probably would be in a wheel chair now and for quite some time to come.

Just don't do it.

wow, I have seen a lot of bike injury pics in the past but those take it to a whole new level!

Just as a contrast, Etienne came off a few weeks ago at 100mph and slid down the tar on the main straight at Cadwell. Clothing? full leathers, back protector, boots, gloves, decent lid. Result? slight graze on one thumb

says it all really...

Depends what your personal minimum safety gear is. If it's only a helmet you're asking for trouble.
I followed a couple on a SRAD to Rivi last weekend, shorts, trainers, t-shirts and helmets only. Crazy, growing new skin isn't easy.

The wound pics should be seen by everybody, without exception....
