I've just got back from Saino's , actually. Here are a few other things I bought, for your reading interest:

• 1 joint of beef topside. MMmmmm
• Apricots
• 2 loaves of farmhouse thick cut
• "4 for 3" various Quorn items
• 4 pints of semi skimmed milk
• Hazlenuts
• diced carrot and swede
• 4 chicken breasts
• some massive sausages in a box, really massive ones.
• a selection of prosciutto and other italian meat
• Foxes chocolately milllionairre shortcake
• Instant coffee

ooh i love apple turnovers, esp ones with cream in. i feel hungry now (even though i ate LOADS of lunch.

that is an interesting basket (or trolley) or shopping. meat AND quorn. i didn't think that meat eaters ate quorn.

The crying shame is that they were 2 for 1 (I'm a sucker for these things) so I got 4 (boxes of 2 you see), but then - one was REFUSED by someone here. So theres a lonely apple turnover waiting to be munched.

It was a horrific experience, but it was trolley based.

I did the quick-scan thing where you scan your own shopping, then get to the till and have to empty your bags and have it rescanned. The concept bewilders me.


In terms of quorn vs meat, yep, its interesting. I find that some Quorn stuff just tastes like muck, but some of its OK.
