For my B1H into curvy shock swap i ordered the kwak bolt from my local mechanic/tuner. The bolt did not clear the dog bones so i cut it down so it was just long enough to get the nut on properly. It still did not clear the dogbones. So i think i spaced the dogbones out on the exhaust side with washers by 3mm. This meant that at worst case scenario in side to side play the smallest clearance will be 1mm. Ive been riding with that with no problem for 3 or 4000 miles.

Not sure how to interpret that - are you advocating putting washers in, or not?

My plan of attack is as follows:

1. Try new shorter bolt in the other way round
2. Stick a couple washers in (12mmx2mm)
3. Kwak Bolt / New Clevis from Nitron

Great, thanks!!

This is exactly what I am thinking about doing if the bolt doesnt fit the other way.

Waheyyyyyyyyyyy

Option 2 it was.

I measured the distance between the clevis and the dog bone - both sides exactly the same. 12mm. So putting the bolt in the other way would have made no difference. I did it anyway to satisfy myself and strangely enough, it seemed to foul even more?

Banged on a couple M12 washers, and now I have about 1mm gap clearence

Took it for a quick razz round the block but kept it short as I had no gear on. Def no fouling, but still feels a bit stiff over a couple speed humps. Maybe need to fine tune the comp/rebound. Need to measure sag etc properly as well, but at least the ******* thing is on

Thanks all

Oh Matron
Well Sag needs adjusting then play with damping and rebound.
Take a nice route out and play away . when your happy remember to right it down in-case you change things when you go with luggage.
I did big adjustments with mine from the book and then cut what I felt best with in half's till it made no difference.
Ends up in slightly softer on re bound and higher compression,Thatis probably due to aging shock .
Oh who said too meany pie's

If I get a chance I'll take it for a whirl tomorrow, with the preload adjuster.

Any tips for setting sag when you are by yourself? lol

Its best you do sag at home 35 mm full up . You need two people or 4 arms and a strong back
