If I ever drop my bike in a big way, nobody - I mean nobody - is to tell LPH which hospital I'm in!!!

That's class, I may have to do something similar

Bike is remarkably repairable. The basic structure is straight and the only really bent thing is the square air intake tube on the front of the frame. That alone would write the bike off, but it's repairable by someone with a clue. We still have the clocks and it needs a new front airtube/fairing frame and a headlight assembly. Neither handlebar is bent or broken, and the footrests are undamaged, forks are straight with no damage to wheels etc.

Aside from that all it needs is a full set of plastics and the tank repainting. I reckon it'll be perfect for under a grand if using used parts.

It pretty much knocked an overhanging tree trunk out by taking a knock directly on the front of the fairing, then wedged itself inbetween the ditch and the fallen tree. At no point did it hit tarmac or even fall over until it stopped. When I saw it in the ditch it was laying on the left side, and the only painted fairing panel that survived intact is the one it was laying on, there's not a scratch on that or the matt black belly pan

No wonder he got out of there within a day, they took away his self pump morphine drip, and he couldn't mong out the old man snorers!

Now that is the most awesome thing I have read to date. You are a monster, a brilliant monster, but a monster none the less!

When I was in hospital a while ago, my sister came to see me and saw that the food I was getting was pretty poor even for a Nuffield hospital. On the day she collected me, I was still very broken, but had not eaten for a couple of days. so she drove us straight to Burger King. That was the only time I have almost had a spiritual experience eating a spicy bean burger!

Hope that your mate is doing well now and will soon be back on his feet and then his wheels. Take care out there folks.

Tell your mate well done for preventing his bike being damaged by using his body to absorb the impact

SRSLY though, very glad he's doing well and is on the mend.
