Worse case is that she will say bugger off as you didn't hit her and you were in the wrong.
Be prepared for this to possibly drag on.

Anti lock really comes into it's own on wet roads where the chance of losing the front or rear end under braking is increased due to lack of grip.

Daryl.
No, he said he slid on the floor, and still didn't hit the car, he was always going to stop before the car if upright with rubber on the tarmac. ABS adds something like 50cm to the stopping distance from 70mph, and that assumes an experienced rider on the brake lever pulling a perfect (!) emergency stop. From 30mph it's negligible anyway, the difference between stopping in time and bumping into the car with your front wheel. In this case ABS would have saved him.

IMO you'll struggle to get anything from this, she will argue no doubt you shouldn't have been overtaking stationary cars at a side junction.

I had a car do this exact same thing while on a little rideout with a few off here ( remember Col?) I was only going past at a slow pace, seen a gap in the cars, a tall 4x4 car edging out, he looked me straight in the eye and stopped, as I got close he pulled out into the opposite lane, I didn't have time to brake so went up a dropped curb which luckily just happened to be there.
I peed off some close pedestrians

I doubt it too, she was all like "I'm so sorry" when it happened but since then she'll have been advised not to admit jack...still no answer on the number she gave me

Whoever wrote that is frankly talking sh*te. Then again I suppose you'd have to expect that from such a closely peer reviewed paper eh.

They are saying tyres have a higher coefficient of sliding friction than static?

With an ABS system, if you don't lock the wheel, it doesn't cut in. Annoyingly some can cut in a bit soon, if you're exploring that bit where there is some slippage but not actual lock.

Important thing to note is that metal on tarmac, leather on tarmac or skin on tarmac has a lower u value than rubber on tarmac. So if you stop before the car when on your *rse... you could actually have stopped using the brakes.

I will soon have some replacement bits winging their way to me so it wont be long before I am back on the road , thanks Bibio!

Time for some window shopping for end cans, as the warranty aint gonna be much of an issue I might just do this sooner rather than later...it's a safety measure anyway...if I had nice loud end cans on the other night she would have heard me coming

Any recommended cans? I can chop the pipe too if need be...

I was gonna go for a Mivv GT (Carbon) can before as I wouldn't need to chop things as it came with collector pipes etc, just so you know what sort of can I like....not too long and carbon finish preferably, WITH a removal baffle

I love the sound of scorpion cans myself, good sound and quality for the money, the tri-oval looks the nuts as well.
