sorry... I will stop laughing in a minute... its so stupid its funny...

Ok... well the police have now decided to do all the charges in one go so we're back on one investigation. A very nice policeman has just been to see me at work to give me the forms required for my formal statement. As Ive worked for the crime squad before Im allowed to do my own witness statement because Ive written shed loads before.

Ive been talking to him and hes told me a little about the drivers interview - apparently Ive done this to commit insurance fraud..

according to the driver, I deliberately rode into him so I can sue and get shed loads of money

My recollections to him just now are apparently confirmed by the other witnesses statements. It appears there are a total of 6 witnesses as well, my statement will be the third. Hes also aware of the CSOs so will get their statements and now aware of the CAD recording of my 999 call.

The driver is on bail, and due to return to be charged in 2 weeks. They are looking at common assault for me and the goldwing rider aswell as various traffic offences. I also have to do an impact statement on the effects of this for court. Ive basically been told this will go to trial.

They are idiots some people. One of my accidents, the guy said i didnt run into him, i'd slipped off and the bike had hit him and therefore he should be claiming off me.....

Send him down!!! For a long time.... (like that'll happen)

I only have his name and the van reg... they cant give me all his details and his insurance have to go via my boss at work... his company insurance people will be happy with the address... City VAT Office...

actually that could be an issue... what if I get given the visit to the company?? hmmmm need to look into that...

... but you had right of way, so even if it was an insurance scam that doesnt take away the fact he caused the accident damaging you and your property, no?

Jordan - basically the police are treating that allegation with the consideration it deserves and recognising the fact that the guy is just trying to divert attention from the fact hes guilty of dangerous/reckless driving. Im still just completely gobsmacked at the dopiness of the driver...

If the proceedings go to court, he will be charged and taken to magistrates court for a plea hearing. If he goes not guilty, I think these charges mean he'll be tried at a crown court rather than it all kept in magistrates court. Fraser or Gforce may be able to confirm if Im right.

All of these are public hearings so if we get there, dates/times and location will be posted here....

If it gets there and I have to give evidence I will appreciate anyones company and support at that time.

Glad to hear things are progressing nicely.

Thanks for your concern over my other-half. She's fine - so long as the git doesn't try any new 'angles'.

It would be really nice to see this twerp get EVERYTHING that's coming to him - make sure you press it all the way, and don't forget to claim for your distress, loss of sleep etc.
